How to Pack a Courier?

Sending an adequately packaged product is important for every eCommerce seller, While for some people, product packaging is easy and natural, some are unaware about how to pack a courier.
Properly packing the product is as crucial as choosing the right packaging material, Properly packaging the products can speed up the entire shipping process and reduce RTO “return to origin”.
This Packaging Guide provides general instructions and examples of effective packing and packaging practices.
In addition, and through these instructions, Tijarahub is trying to provide the necessary protection for the customer’s shipments, and to provide best shipping solutions for Tijarahub’s customers which suit according to the categories and types of shipped goods.

Step 1: Choose the Right Box

- The packaging box needs to be spacious so that your product fits into it with a enough void from all directions. You must use a new box.
- Using a second-hand box may damage your product as it may have weakened during the first use.
- Cardboard boxes and corrugated boxes can be a good choice. They come in different types and sizes, single-walled or double-walled.
- Tijarahub recommends using the double walled for better packing due to international logistics and for product protection.
- Depending on your product, you can choose the box.

Choose the right box with good quality and right size to decrease the possibilities of damage that may happen during the handling and shipping process due to poor packaging.

Step 2: Wrap the Product

- Wrap the product in a material that will protect your product, such as bubble wrap, Then place it into the packaging box with packaging inserts all the way around. They will stop your product from moving around the packaging box.

(You can place void filler such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts, foam and newspaper can all be used to protect your items).

Step 3: Seal the Box

The next step is to close the box and seal it with a fine-quality adhesive tape, If you feel that your box may incur damage during transportation, you can double box your product, It will provide additional protection to the product. However, don't unnecessarily package your products in a double box, or it will give an unpleasant unboxing experience to your customers and increase the shipping charges.

Notably, double boxing is the process of placing your packaged product into a larger box along with packaging inserts between these two boxes. Then, you can close and seal the larger box with tape.

(You can place void filler such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts, foam and newspaper can all be used to protect your items).

H-taping

Ensure all seams are sealed using the H-taping method below the steps for H-taping method:

  • Apply 1 strip of tape along the center seam.
  • Apply 2 strips of tape across both edge seams.
  • Apply more strips of tapes for heavier shipments.
  • Repeat the H-tapings so that both the box's top and bottom are sealed.

Step 4: Label the Package

The last step is to address the parcel depending on the courier company's requirements, In case you have used an old box, you need to ensure that you have removed all the old delivery labels and addresses.

Some carrier companies require you to attach a bar bode on the label, while others require you to address the product package, In either case, you are suggested to place at least two copies of the delivery address and bar code label with the parcel.

Special packaging (for liquids and powders products)

  • Always in packaging the liquid goods make sure to wrap bottles individually and place in a well-sealed polyethylene bag. Pack in a strong cardboard carton with sufficient absorbent material such as newspaper or wood-shavings to soak up any spillage.
  • Powders and fine grains should be placed in strong plastic bags, securely sealed and then packed in a rigid fiberboard box.
  • Seal semi-liquids, greasy or strong-smelling substances with adhesive tape. Wrap in grease-resistant paper before putting into a strong double wall box.
